Eligibility
Drivers must be over 25 and under 70 years of age, of good health and have held a full driving licence for at least one year. The licence must be produced at the time of caravan collection along with a copy of the insurance policy. A head and shoulders photo of the hirer must be provided
Insurance
The hire caravan is comprehensively insured (excluding tyres) by Swindon Caravan Centre. If damage is caused to the caravan the £100 deposit may not be refunded. It is your responsibility, as hirer, to inform your own Insurance Company that you intend to use your car for towing as the third party risk in respect of the caravan must, by law, be covered by the Insurance Company of the vehicle that will be towing the caravan. The Hirer's personal property is not covered by the Company's Insurance.
Conditions of Hire
The hirer shall not
Take the caravan out of the country without informing Swindon Caravan Centre.
Tow the caravan at a speed in excess of the legal limit.
Allow the caravan to be towed by any other person other than those named on the hire agreement and who possess a current, valid driving licence.
Lend or hire the caravan to a third party.
Commission repairs or modifications to the caravan without the prior agreement of Swindon Caravan Centre.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the caravan is in a roadworthy condition, the Company is under no liability for accommodation charges, replacement caravan costs or any claims arising from breakdown, accident or other causes.
Tyres - should a tyre become unroadworthy the hirer will be held responsible for replacement and charges.
The Company reserves the right to:
1. Vary the rates and conditions of hire and to refuse a hire to any person without explanation or prior warning should unforeseen circumstances dictate.
2. Substitute another caravan or cancel the hire in the event of:
- A caravan being returned damaged resulting in its
unsuitability for hire.
- The late return by a previous hirer.
Should the Hirer cancel the booking, the Company will endeavour to re-let the caravan and if successful, the amount paid will be refunded less an administration charge, If the Company is unable to do so, the Hirer will be liable for the full amount already paid. Hirers are advised to obtain their own holiday travel insurance to safeguard against such losses.
Deposit Refunds
Deposits are refunded in full provided that the caravan is returned undamaged, clean and on time. Refunds are paid after cleaning and inspection of the returned caravan, but within 14 days of the termination of hire. The cassette toilet must be empty and clean. We reserve the right to charge for any extra cleaning or repairs that prove necessary.
Caravan Collection & Return
All normal hires start on Saturday and Collection is by prior appointment. Failure to meet the agreed appointment may result in considerable delay. Caravans must be returned no later than 4pm on Friday: late returns may attract an additional charge. Make sure to be on time to avoid inconvenience to the hirers that follow you.
Payment
A deposit of £100 is payable on reservation. The full hire charge is payable 28 days prior to collection of the caravan.
How to make a Reservation
Complete and return the Booking Form. Either complete the authority to charge your credit card or send your cheque for £100 (made payable to Swindon Caravan Centre) to the address below. A booking confirmation will be sent by the Company upon acceptance. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. A credit card booking will result in the balance being debited at the four week stage.
